NSPCC runs specialist CSE service to raise awareness of the issue among schoolchildren and care professionals.

ACTION

Launched in November 2011, Protect and Respect aims to prevent children aged 10 to 19 at risk of sexual exploitation becoming victims, and offer support to those who have already been exploited.

The NSPCC runs the service from 14 centres across the UK. It works in partnership with social services, the police, schools, children's residential homes and carers.

In recent years, the service has been expanded - in 2013, it was run from seven centres in England. There are now centres in: Belfast, Cambridgeshire, Camden, Cardiff, Carlisle, Craigavon, Croydon, Foyle, Liverpool, Peterborough, Plymouth, Prestatyn, Sheffield and Swansea, which opened in June 2017.

There are two key aspects to Protect and Respect - to raise awareness and aid recovery.
